Aparangi Village in Te Kauwhata is at the forefront of a different retirement option. Residents choose from building their own homes, buying existing homes, apartments and assisted living, right through to state of the art residential care. Our rural atmosphere, gentle pace of life in Te Kauwhata and the district surrounds, and proximity to Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga makes Aparangi a sound choice. Our residents enjoy a unique and fulfilled lifestyle surrounded by like-minded people.
The Te Kauwhata Retirement Trust Board is undertaking an exciting plan to modernise and refurbish the Residential Care Unit at Aparangi Village. Resident and Market requirements have changed from those of 35 years ago, with demand for more space and modern amenities. Thus, the new 5 year plan will be undertaken in Stages.
Stage One was completed in July 2010, and Stage Two was completed in October 2011.
'Friends of Aparangi' was started by local fok in 2010 to help fundraise and give support to the ongoing needs of Aparangi Village, especially with the current redevelopment programme. For more information on what this involves and how you can become a ‘Friend of Aparangi,’ please click on the links below or feel free to contact us.

Stage Two opened for business on the 15th October 2011 with an early handover from our fabulous building contractor. There are still funds to be found to help with the overall cost of $2.4 million. Currently there is a team of district residents hard at work raising funds for this and future stages, whether by grant applications, or by approaching both Corporate and other sponsors for donations. In addition we have a very talented group organising public events such as book fairs and golf tournaments, to name a few. Our grateful thanks to: Norah Howell Charitable Trust: $5000 for room furnishings Cuesports Foundation Limited: $5000 for shower chairs Lions Club of Te Kauwhata and District: $7500 for soft furnishings of public areas
St Joan's Charitable Trust:$20,000 for electric beds
